The Parish Council has held discussions with Warwickshire County Council, (WCC) both through meetings and emails, to establish an finish date for the traffic lights at the end of Warwick Road. Regrettably it seems unlikely that the lights will be removed before the end of July.
The issue is the design and construction of the concrete parapet over the culvert. Highways have been waiting for a revised design from Morris Homes’ consultants which, once validated, can be passed to the WCC contractors.
As soon as a definitive date is established it will be posted here.
Meanwhile Western Power have notified us that they will be carrying out essential electricity cable laying re-enforcement works in the Kineton area from 19th July to 18th August. These works, down Pittern Hill and along Brookhampton Lane, will be carried out under 2 and 3 way Traffic management. This information has been shared with the WCC team responsible for the Morris Homes engineering. Hopefully the two parties will be able to coordinate the use of traffic lights.
Lastly, repairs to the sunken trenches from the top of Bridge Street through to the Tysoe Road are scheduled to take place and be completed on Saturday 30th July. We have been assured that there will be no requirement to close the road and that traffic lights or stop/go boards will be used to control traffic flows. Residents who are immediately impacted by this work will also receive a letter from the contractor asking them to park cars away from Bridge Street and Tysoe Road whilst the work is taking place.
